Our Story

We are Planterium, a volunteer based community who have a collective consciousness about the ongoing problems in the world. In the city we live, Istanbul, everyday, we are exposed to new news and researches  that demonstrates the poor air quality and lack of green spaces in our community.

This situation led us to the question "Is there anyway we can contribute to improving this situation ?". With this question on our mind we started to discuss ideas and find a solution in 2024.

Our Team.

As a well organised and hardworking student, ever since he was small Arda has had a passion for science. Hoping to become an Energy Systems Engineer in the future, Arda cares very much about the environment and has done his research on the topic. Consequently, he gathered every member to become a part of the Planterium community and is hoping to contribute to the sustainabilty goals.

With experiences from the organisation teams of various school clubs and a passion for arts, Duru has learned to manage the design of public posts. Thriving for creativity and innovation, Duru is very excited to be taking part in this project as the editor/designer. Her responsibility is to orchestrate the blog and the cube design/production process.

Since Emir is the most outgoing person you’ll ever encounter, it’s not a surprise he is passionate about handling the public side of this project. He loves interacting with people and helping them. Therefore, he was fit for the role of Public Relations Manager, who is in charge of communicating with the volunteers and the content posted in public platforms.

As a student who is experienced in the programming field, Poyraz is dedicated to using his skillset in echnology for the greater good and help the environment. As he wants to pursue a career in computer science, he gladly contributed to the team by developing the blog and QR codes associated with it, while also taking part in the production of the cube.
